Another recent pop-up in the donut industry, Vortex opened it's doors to the public in 2014. They are committed to handmade, daily fresh batches of donuts to serve to the city of Asheville. They have taken years to perfect the combination of ingredients which go in to each donut variety to ensure each bite, from each donut, is memorable. They stick with local ingredients which support local farmers and shops. This ensures the food is essentially farm-to-fryer as fast as possible. They also have an impressive collection of coffee beverages. Basically, this is the place we go to start the morning off right, regardless of what time that may be. With so many new donut options throughout the state, this one is surely near the top of our personal favorites list.
